ERL is the namesake label of renaissance creative Eli Russel Linnetz. Born and raised in Venice Beach, CA, Linnetz originally made a name for himself as a frequent collaborator of high-profile artists such as Kim Jones and Lady Gaga. The label, which is produced by Dover Street Market, presents a surrealist fever-dream of Los Angeles Americana. Recent collections investigate ‘dude-culture’ from the ‘70s and ‘90s; Referencing military garments alongside skull-patterned skiwear, ERL explores American culture to form its own vocabulary that is neither Ivy League Prep or counter-culture, but its own unique design language.
